22/05/13: Now I have some lovely photos of these 2 in their new home.
26/04/13: Luca traveled to Germany on the 06.04 transport, originally destined for a lovely foster home there. However the week before the transport a family decided to adopt him, AND they have also adopted his little friend from Almeria, MaryNury who is also VERY sweet. I saw how nicely they played together …

ALStrays Drivers Wanted

With the new van ordered (Vauxhall Movano Euro 5 L3H2 – fully loaded) and due to be collected on the 2nd November we need more drivers.

The initial plan is to take advantage of the increased capacity to consolidate the three monthly transports into two, with more capacity and even better prices!

Transport One: the original Germany Cat Transport will still retain the focus but now we will combine the transport of cats to Germany with dogs to France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Brussels a TEN to the UK.

Transport Two: will focus on FIFTEEN dogs to the UK along with dogs to France, ideally collected at Calais.

As such we need a group of drivers. Ideally I want a regular driving partner for each of the two transports, NOT for both, and a group of third drivers for the second transport.

We also intend to use the smaller van to help move more rescue animals around Spain and put on even cheaper transports to the UK for those centres that have 10 dogs/cats to transport.

The facts are: you must be over 30 with a clean driving license, each trip lasts 5 days with two nights in the UK. You will be responsible for your own food and accommodation, but if you want to stay on for longer and hitch a ride back on a later transport that is fine.

We do have a budget to pay but I will be honest. The cheaper you are the more attractive your will be! Not been tight, but the less we spend on humans we more we can spend on the cats and dogs. So, please submit a realistic fee expectation if you are interested.

For the third driver priority will be given to individuals that are willing to make a contribution in return for a free lift to the UK and back. Rescue Centres may want to send a third driver and receive discounted rate on their dogs on the transport, and if all else fails we will pay either a driver rate or a passenger rate as all we actually need is a warm body to help get the 15 dogs through Passport Control.

We have three transports in November: 1st to UK, 10th to Germany and 17th to UK that would be ideal opportunities for anybody interested in becoming a driver to do a trial run, and yes you will be paid!

If interested let me know.
