6 more cats will travel to Germany on Friday to new lives, and in the last 10 days 3 more beautiful cats and 2 lovely little dogs (one a puppy) have been taken off the streets. We continue to make a difference!

All you dog lovers out there will be pleased to know that some of the money from the last Almerimar Strays booksale has been used as a donation to the Protectora de Animales (dog rescue).

The last week has been another slightly quieter one for Almerimar Strays, for me intentionally because my mother has been here for a holiday. The week to come however already looks a little busier.

So far everything has gone to plan this week. Yesterday we caught Monster Mog or Caesar as we are now calling him, and after an overnighter with Jenny he has been up to vet Miguel today to be ‘processed’.

Yesterday, for a change, Pam and I rescued a dog instead of a cat! This came about because we happened to be at the Truck Stop petrol station, just up the motorway on Sunday, and were accosted by a very friendly and rather hungry, floppy eared hound! We made enquiries in the shop and were told that a Spanish family had been seen pushing this poor creature out of their car before driving off. Lovely, and once again an example of just how cruel and uncaring people can be.

Today has been another great day for Almerimar Strays. Even people who don’t agree with the feeding and supporting of the stray cats, should be happy with what we have achieved today.

Here is a great good news story about a dog for a change, just to prove that Almerimar Strays cares about dogs as well as cats!
