Chris has just reviewed a great product that I have found a rather intriguing use for!! While it may look a little uncomfortable it actually doesn’t harm the cats in any way and makes weighing them so much easier!

Almerimar Strays now has a weekly newsletter. It arrives as an email, and is a great way to catch up on all the news and photos that I post on my blog, and make sure you don’t miss anything. The newsletter sumarises all the articles for that week, and you can then decide whether to read the full article or look at photos on the blog.

Yippeee! Almerimar Strays now has 1000 Twitter pals, or anipals as most of them are. I tweet as myself, Mori, Saidi and Oscar, and sometimes even as one of the stray cats. It is great fun and has led to more people genuinely following what we do for the animals here, and even some donations to the cause! AND I have enjoyed reading my pals tweets too, and have learnt things.

Well done to Pam for having another very successful book sale to put Almerimar Strays back in the black! Yesterday raised another 180€ to help more cats here in Almerimar.

We now have a great process for re-homing the tamer stray cats, and with great prices from local vets and money coming back from Germany for each cat homed, each cat is costing us less overall to help. We do however still need money regularly, to make up the deficit for the re-homed cats and also to pay for the sterilisations of the more feral cats. All contributions are always welcome.

Mac Sokulski who has won a number of the “FREE ‘Taste of Spain’ Meals In Almerimar has kindly donated four Credit Crunch Specials meals at La Plaza .

Mac asked that these were specifically used to reward and thank the people who had helped Foster the various cats over recent months.

I will leave the logistics and communication to Sands, but thanks very much Mac; it is much appreciated.

I, like India Knight, the Sunday Times columnist, am now a convert to Twitter! For those who ‘know nothing’ about it, Twitter is an online networking website that allows you to send basically one-line snippets out into the ether about what you are up to, or thinking, at any particular moment.

A reminder that this Saturday, being the last one in the month, is the Almerimar Strays book, DVD and CD sale. Today I’m pleased to be able to say that some of the main pages under ‘How To Help’ of this blog are now in 3 languages: English, Spanish and German. My aim over the next few weeks is to have all the information pages translated, so that our friends in Germany, and local Spanish and German cat lovers can read them and understand, in particular, how they can help us.

The animal pound at Roquetas del Mar is to offer, until the 15th of Feb, subsidised animal spaying for domestic pets, to help keep down the number of unwanted (and then dumped) pets

Tom Cox who runs the Little Cat Diaries blog and wrote Under the Paw: Confessions of a Cat Man sent me a email to let me know that the book will be coming out in Germany early in 2009.
