Bono was our biggest rescue. He is the gorgeous kitten that was unable to eat himself when we first rescued him, because his poor little mouth wouldn’t open sufficiently, which is possibly why he was abandoned. We fed him meat smoothies and milk for weeks using a syringe, and when he was finally able to slowly eat soft food, Martina found him a fantastic home in Switzerland with a lovely lady doctor and her beautiful kitten Desdemona. Sabine even flew to Spain in March to collect him.

I had a very constructive morning today. Big Tommy (our FIV positive Tomcat) had blood taken by Miguel for a plasma test. It seems that the quick test sometimes give positive results in error, so we are hoping that this more accurate one at the lab may give him a FIV negative result, which will mean he can travel to Germany this weekend. Roya is flying to Munich on Sunday, and if all goes well with his new test, AND he slims down to the required weight, then he will get the luxury of traveling with her.

Cute Little Chap
Here are some great photos of little Bono (now re-named Jonathan), happy in his new home in Switzerland with girlfriend Desdemona. This is one lucky (and cute) little chap. As Pam says, he has really “fallen on his feet”; he has a completely besotted and extremely attentive new owner in Sabine, and a gorgeous female cat to be his best buddy.

More great news from Germany:
“Greetings from jasper too….there was a visit after one week in his new home….he is the boss !!! all the people do, what jasper wants..and he is so happy ;o) in july he will be neutered and then he can go out…sheeps, cows, only green, no streets in front of his house….;o)”

)”
22/03/09: It is now just over a week since 5 of out cats arrived at their new homes in Germany, and almost a week since little Bono travelled to Switzerland. So far, bar the odd sniffle and runny eye, everything seems to be working out fine for all of our little buddies, and the emails from Germany make great reading and put any concerns for these lovely animals’ futures to rest. (If you haven’t already read the many posts on these cats and kittens, please click on the individual names in the Tag Cloud.)
The first real news was last Sunday 15th from Martina, who had picked up Bonny, Felix and Tabitha from the transport:

Time for another update, mainly on our current foster kids as it is getting close to the time when they will leave us, either for Germany or for new homes here in Almerimar.
