Coyota Kittens In The Snow

I have received some great new photos of our Coyota Kittens, in the snow! Now called Salina & Sierra, they apparently love it, and this is definitely an experience they would have been unlikely to have had here in Almerimar.

I’m pleased to now have news of the first of our 6 kittens that travelled to Germany yesterday. As you can see from the email below, they are well and happy, and I’m sure will adjust brilliantly to their new home, and names! I think it much easier for kittens, particularly tame ones. These 2 little coyota girls were from the abandoned litter that we rescued in May, and we have always thought they were from a home cat.

Good and bad news this evening. Tommy’s test result came back, and it is now confirmed without doubt that he is FIV positive. This does not mean that he cannot have a good life, but we must continue to wait for the right home for him, either as a single cat or with other cats that are also FIV positive. The risk is low as Tommy is not a fighter, but we cannot take the chance that he may bite another cat, and pass on his condition. So he will not be flying with Roya on Sunday, and we will have the pleasure of his company for a little longer.

I had a very constructive morning today. Big Tommy (our FIV positive Tomcat) had blood taken by Miguel for a plasma test. It seems that the quick test sometimes give positive results in error, so we are hoping that this more accurate one at the lab may give him a FIV negative result, which will mean he can travel to Germany this weekend. Roya is flying to Munich on Sunday, and if all goes well with his new test, AND he slims down to the required weight, then he will get the luxury of traveling with her.
