As I have been reviewing recently what we have achieved so far this year, and since I started Almerimar Strays, I thought it was a good time for reflection on our work here in Almerimar with the stray cats, and how ALStrays has developed into so much more than my initial plans.

I’ve posted today lots of photos of our new rescue kittens. To get great ones, I’ve spent a lot of time playing with our brilliant photo editing software, which I can thank Chris for. I’m always a little skeptical as to why we need all this software until I find a use for it, and today I have been singing the praises of Adobe Lightroom!

I’ve been reviewing our ‘cat list’ for the summer, to make sure we have the priorities sorted. Overall we have an aim to sterilise most of the stray cats in Almerimar and re-home the more tame ones via our friends in Germany. Alongside that we are trying to reduce the number of feeding sites and overall the number of cats that need feeding, as this is a huge ongoing commitment and cost to the kind people who do it.

More success today, as we caught 2 more of our semi-feral cats on the rocks, and have taken them up to Jos’s vet Miguel for sterilisation.

Today I sent photos of our kittens to Cony in Germany to put up on their web-site, where people who are interested can look and get more details.

Today has been another great day for Almerimar Strays. Even people who don’t agree with the feeding and supporting of the stray cats, should be happy with what we have achieved today.

Today has been a fantastic day on the Almerimar Strays front. Firstly we caught Tabitha cat, our lovely tabby, who was we believe adandoned in Calle Alcor just before Christmas. We then took her, along with Charlie up to Jos’s dog rescue centre for his vet to sterilise.
