This morning we failed to catch the second of the 2 Nautico kittens for sterilisation, so she must now wait another 10 days. This was frustrating as yesterday she was actually in the catch box, but our appointment with vet Miguel was for today. We MUST catch her soon or we will have more little feral kittens!

I posted a couple of days ago that I had had some bad news of Smokey Boy, but now it seems that things are better than I originally thought.

Beautiful Smokey Boy
Smokey Boy was one of our cats that we had to fight to save, and therefore has a special place in our thoughts.

Last night I asked for more news of Jassa and Smokey Boy. Jassa has a foster home with Mimmy cat but that has not worked out well. Because Jassa had a cold he arrived in Germany one month after Mimmy cat who by that time seemed to have decided that it was her home alone. They are fighting every night, so poor Jassa will have to go. Now I await better news as he is such a lovely, affectionate boy, but I am confident the great girls in Germany will find him a home soon.

As you know Smokey Boy is off to Germany next week which is great news, but it will also be a shame to see him go for Pam who has done such an excellent job with him:

Beautiful Smokey
07/12/2008: Today I have updated this post.
It appears as if Smokey IS fully recovered from his illness, and is becoming rather cheeky in his new foster home. Pam returned yesterday from a 2 day trip to Gibralter and let Smokey out of the study for a while as he was becoming a little stir-crazy, whereupon he settled happily into one of her cats’s baskets by the fire, naturally inducing some snarling and hissing from the other residents. Smokey appeared completely unconcerned and didn’t even bother to retaliate.
