)”
22/03/09: It is now just over a week since 5 of out cats arrived at their new homes in Germany, and almost a week since little Bono travelled to Switzerland. So far, bar the odd sniffle and runny eye, everything seems to be working out fine for all of our little buddies, and the emails from Germany make great reading and put any concerns for these lovely animals’ futures to rest. (If you haven’t already read the many posts on these cats and kittens, please click on the individual names in the Tag Cloud.)
The first real news was last Sunday 15th from Martina, who had picked up Bonny, Felix and Tabitha from the transport:

The communication is great. We already have more news from Germany since my last post about the new arrivals. The best news is that Bonny’s ‘foster’ Mum has already fallen in love with her and what was a trial home is now a permanent one. A big factor in this is probably that having cried for her brother Felix for several hours, little Bonny is now best friends with Blacky, her new owner’s kitten!
Here is Martina’s latest email:

News from Germany is that, after their 24 hour drive, all our cats are safe and well. Charlie has yet to arrive in his new home and we seem to be missing his passport, but I’m sure everything will be fine.
As for Tabitha and the kittens, all sounds very promising from Martina’s email, and I’m sure that Bonny and Felix will completely get over being parted soon.

This morning both Mary and I were up at 5.30am to collect some of our foster cats and take them to board the van to Germany. This was the end of a VERY busy week for me, which, as well as sorting all the final stuff for today’s transport, also included sorting a foster home for another rescued kitten (more on him tomorrow).
Taking the cats up to the dog rescue to meet up with Jos, his vet Miguel and all the other animal lovers, and board them for Germany is an ‘interesting’ experience.

Time for another update, mainly on our current foster kids as it is getting close to the time when they will leave us, either for Germany or for new homes here in Almerimar.
