22/05/13: Now I have some lovely photos of these 2 in their new home.
26/04/13: Luca traveled to Germany on the 06.04 transport, originally destined for a lovely foster home there. However the week before the transport a family decided to adopt him, AND they have also adopted his little friend from Almeria, MaryNury who is also VERY sweet. I saw how nicely they played together …

Bugsy & Molly – Beautiful Kittens

Submitted by on December 16, 2011 – 6:30 pm3 Comments | 116 views

16/12/11: Since my last update I have received 2 emails from Bugsy and Molly’s new family. This was the first lovely message: “Dear Sandra and Chris, thank you very much for your efforts to bring Molly and Bugsy safe and healthy to Germany. They are still very shy, but we love them already. This are the first pictures in their new home in Bavaria. Best wishes. Katja and Matthias.” Then a couple of days later they wrote about the latest ‘breakthrough’. Both Molly and Bugsy had allowed then to stroke them, AND even seemed to be enjoying it! All sounds very fine.

And here are the first pictures from their new home:

05/12/11: Latest news is that both are eating and drinking fine and spent their first night sleeping on the cat tree. They will need a little time but their adopt ants are happy with them.
04/12/11: Bugsy and Molly arrived at their new home yesterday evening and I await news! I am looking forward to some new photos of a slightly slimmer Molly. This petite little madam was developing quite a belly here, I hope as a result of her confined space and lack of exercise! In the meantime, enjoy some new photos from Spain below.
14/11/11: The last couple of days have been a small breakthrough. Bugsy has finally let me stroke him a little, away from his food. Molly has been coming close for some time now, but her brother has been more nervous. Considering they have had little human time, they are now doing very well, and today I had fantastic news: “Good news, Bugsy and Molly have a home near Frankfurt a lovely family, they life in a house with a balcony…and perhaps in the summer they will make the garden cat safe. I think its a good home for both of them.” I am VERY happy that they will get away from my foster room in just over 2 weeks now, and that they can stay together, and I am sure that, in a proper home with a real family, they will become much tamer very fast. Both are lovely, gentle cats. They will just need a little time.

14/10/11: Slowly this beautiful twosome are getting used to me. They are very comfortable now with me being in the same room as long as I don’t move too fast. Molly jumped on the bed today while I was stroking Roxy and almost let me touch her, and they almost join in some of the play. I am convinced that in a proper home with more people contact they would become tame very quickly. They already come to the door with Roxy to almost greet me, and have definitely worked out what I am for! Today I used my, less frightening iPhone, and managed to take 2 new photos. Enjoy!

01/10/11: Good progress today. I took some toys on strings round to their foster home, and we all eventually played! Roxy started the game, followed next by Iain’s lovely cat Smudge. Molly watched with great interest for a long time and then couldn’t resist the chase. Bugsy was the last to join in, but before that he was looking quite relaxed, stretching and following what was going on. Finally we had breakfast and they will let me stroke them while they are eating.

28/09/11: These 2 are gorgeous but shy! They are the kittens of a semi-feral female fed by a kind Spanish man who knows us through the Mercadona. He kept them for the first 2 months in his dog kennel to protect them from his Spanish neighbour who actually did kill one that escaped! A second was adopted by another kind Spanish family, leaving Bugsy and Molly to come to me. Thankyou to Liz who took them for the first month, until I had space closer to home. Their rescuer said that he could hold and stroke them and I believe him. For a few days I had them in a large cage, and had no problem taking them out for their first trip to the vet. They do not bite once you have hold of them, but they definitely do not want to be touched.

Each day they are however getting a little more curious and used to me. This is helped by Iain’s very friendly own cat Smudge who seems to love all kittens, and in the last few days also by an extremely people friendly kitten, Roxy, dumped in the port at the weekend. She is desperate for cuddles and purrs away, watched by Molly in particular, who is getting tempted to come closer. They now come right out for their wet food and I can stroke them while they are eating. All this is positive and I think their final owners will make friends with them easily. They are beautiful kittens.
