Character Cat Albi

Albi is now living in a new home in Germany with character cat Finbar so an introduction is definitely overdue!

Albi is one of the stray cats from my friend Jenny’s garden. Until he was sterilised about 6 months ago, he was definitely a feral prowler, and not overly interested in humans, despite being fed by Jenny for over 2 years. Recently however, he has spent more and more time inside the house, and has become increasingly friendly. It was the fact that he was happy for me, a relative stranger, to stroke him that convinced me he was re-homable.

Things are not yet fantastic for Albi in his new home, as he is still adjusting to life inside after his FiV positive test result. He is also having to compete for the affections of his new mum with Finbar, a much tamer more charming cat, whom Albi seems a little afraid of at present.

This was always going to be a tough re-homing, as Albi was very happy where he was. He was however starting to really upset Jenny’s own cat Sita, by invading her territory, so an alternative permanent home for him was urgently needed.

I am hopeful, that everything with turn out fine in the end, and that Albi and Finbar will become friends. It would be good for Albi to actually have someone to play with, as since his neutering he has become rather a fat, lazy boy, mainly interested in food.

Certainly his new Mum seems happy to give him plenty of time to adjust, and understands all about his background. Fingers crossed for a happy life for our former street cat!
