Daphne – An Aristocratic Cat

May 16, 2013 – 9:38 am | 34 views

16/05/13: Amazingly Daphne was found abandoned on the streets in Almeria by a friend of the Spanish lady who runs a private rescue home. I don’t think she had been outside for long as her coat was not in very bad condition, but she is another example of the attitude to animals here. I love all cats but very Persian faces like Daphne’s are not …

29/01/12: Time for another update on Jack. All seems fine in his world, and his humans at least completely love him! “After a while it is time to send you an update on Jack. He fully enjoys his life in his new home. He is very human oriented and loves to sleep on my husband or me. Totally relaxed at that time, sometimes jumping from one to the other. At this moment he lies on my husbands belly! Since the end of last year we started to let him out a little. He enjoyed that too. As it is colder than in Spain he came back after some minutes or half an hour. Yesterday he started to chase the sparrows. I think it is good that he is able to lose some energy outside as he hasn’t become friends with Sammy yet. So they doesn`t play together. His paws are becoming better and better. The skin feels now strong as it should. I send you some new pictures and greetings for the girls.

Jack Exploring

Almost Friends

31/10/11: Now a photo of Jack with Sammy! “The first steps are made towards a friendship. Jack is now a little bit shy after Sammy screamed some days at him but both had fun at the Cat Activity board!”
24/10/11: Now we have the first photos of Jack looking very relaxed and more feedback from his new Mum: “I stayed today at home to see, haw they will get familiar. So Jack has a hard job today as Sammy looked like a Gremlin (big black cat of 7kg, touching some electricity). As soon as Sammy recognizes Jack he is screaming. But Jack is able to pass Sammy in only half a meter distance without a fight so far. So Jack is doing great with this situation. I hope that Sammy will recognize that Jack is a friendly fellow. We will see. Smilla our princess let the Tomcats doing what they whant. She isn`t interested at all at the moment. On the pictures you see Jack on our desk in front of a window. So if he is not in a lesson with Sammy, he relaxed.”

23/10/11: Jack’s new Mum has already sent us an update via her comment below: “Jack just arrived in his new home. He is in good shape and immediately started to detect the room, were he will stay for one or two days before we let him meet the other cats. I cooked some rice with chicken for him as a light diet after the transport. He enjoyed that as well. Keep you informed the next days. Maren” Does seem like our boy has really fallen on his paws!!!
22/10/11: Is currently on the transport to Germany to meet his new family tomorrow!
13/10/11: Jack is now about 2 and a half years old and has been at the PAWs cattery for most of his life, except that for most of the time, Jack is not actually INSIDE the cattery: “Jack was taken into Paws as a tiny kitten with his sister. His sister quickly got a home but a year later Jack was still in the cattery and so we decided to give him and a friend their freedom to live outside. Jack has always come back to the cattery to eat and sleep and has enjoyed his life. But recently he has had some bad experiences with dogs and is scared to return to the cattery as often as he used to and sleeps under the cars waiting for one of us to come along and take him into the cattery.” I took new photos of Jack some weeks ago, and recently put him on the German homepages for adoption. This beautiful cat found an adoptant very quickly and will be off to a more secure future on the October 22nd transport. I know all the PAWs girls will miss Jack but his new home sounds just perfect.

I have found a home for Jack:) glücklich
In the future he will live together with a older “princess cat” and a 5 years old lovely male cat and he can go outside in a big garden.
I am VERY happy for him!
