22/05/13: Now I have some lovely photos of these 2 in their new home.
26/04/13: Luca traveled to Germany on the 06.04 transport, originally destined for a lovely foster home there. However the week before the transport a family decided to adopt him, AND they have also adopted his little friend from Almeria, MaryNury who is also VERY sweet. I saw how nicely they played together …

Meet Big Daddy!

Our big Daddy

How’s this for a character cat? AND he is HUGE! Big Daddy aptly named is the father of many a kitten in Almerimar, and is normally lurking around our Calle Alcor strays.

He is a great big, feral cat, who we’re sure must eat in a number of places and looks very capable of catching his own food. His is battered looking and scared from many fights, but we’re actually rather fond of him and wish him well, although a snip would certainly solve a few of our problems!

Recently however his life has become slightly less comfortable, as he appears to be being terrorised by Monster Moggie, our new ‘owned’ Calle Alcor Tomcat. This is the nuisance who has benn putting Monty under seige This morning when Pam fed Monty siamese and little Mimi cat, she heard loud cat howling nearby, only to find Big Daddy literally backed into a corner and fighting off Monster Mog. This is actually rather impressive as Big Daddy is definitely the much bigger of the two, and not the sort of cat I would have thought other felines would want to meet on a dark night, AND heaven help the females. However Monster Mog is definitely one alpha male, and continues to reign supreme.

We are now on a mission to find out who owns this bully, and to discuss whether a little castration might ease our problems with him! We think he may be after the 2 females (Mimi and Tabby cat) and protecting them from other males, since he definitely doesn’t look in need of food, or he could just be a Bully.

Anyway now you all know Big Daddy, until recently our main Tomcat. I’d love photos of any other Almerimar Tomcats if you have them, and watch this space for more news on Monster Mog.
