28/03/11: All is looking very well for Gulliver & Coco. Kerstin visited them in their new home over the weekend and took these great new photos.

Both cats are looking very happy and relaxed!

16/03/11: Gulliver travelled to Germany on the March 11th transport, where he met not only his new parents but his new girlfriend, little Coco kitten, who at 6 months is just 4 months younger than our boy!

Coco has already featured on this blog. She is a very pretty longer-haired, black and white girl, with a cute little face, rescued by one of the vet’s in Mojacar. It was actually Coco that the family fell for first, and then Kerstin asked me if I had a young male cat to be her friend. We had literally just rescued Gulliver, and as he is such a handsome chap, he had his home before his photos even hit the German webpages!

We had a slight scare when Coco’s snap test was a little suspect for FeLV, but her subsequent lab test was negative, so she was able to meet Gulliver almost immediately. All seems on track for a very happy home for them both. This email came from their new family, along with these great new photos of 2 very relaxed looking cats:

“For us, it’s great! The two sweeties have quickly and easily settled and conquered our hearts.
Our Gulliver is a very lovely, very cuddly male cat who is very relaxed and he eats a lot… ;o)”
Our Coco Diva is a little more reserved but totally playful and curious … she must be everywhere.
Together they are ok for now … just a little hissing and spitting and we think they will be friends soon.”

Everything sounds just fine. I wish them both a very happy life together.

14/02/11: Gulliver is a beautiful boy that we rescued yesterday from the port. I had been looking for him on and off for a few days.

I had heard about him from a number of people who told me that he had been begging for food in the restaurants for about 10 days. Now that I have met this gorgeous boy, I am convinced that somebody has recently abandoned him. He is VERY tame, and happy to be picked up and cuddled. He has lovely clean, soft fur, and seems very healthy, if a little thin. I don’t think he has been outside for long, and I’m really happy that we have been able to help him early.

For now he is enjoying the comforts of Jenny’s conservatory, lots of good food, and the occasional foray upstairs, where today he met Mitzi, one of Jenny’s cats. She was highly unimpressed to meet HIM in the lounge, but Gulliver just seemed to want to be friendly. This was good to see as now I know that he will be happy to live with a cat friend in the future.

I have already sent photos of this very handsome cat to Germany today, and on Thursday, after his visit to vet Miguel, I will know more about him. I have a feeling he will not wait long for his adoptant.
