Lisa – A Beautiful Abandoned Cat

May 23, 2012 – 10:34 pm | 8 views

Lisa hasn’t had the best couple of months. She is 6 years old and until recently had I assume a contented apartment life as the only cat of an English man. Unfortunately her owner seems to have got into financial difficulties and disappeared leaving Lisa alone in the apartment for we think about 2 weeks, just with some food and water. She was found when …

Cats On Their Way To Germany

Submitted by on May 7, 2010 – 1:31 pmNo Comment | 67 views

Today was another 6.30 start to deliver 5 cats to the transport to Germany. Nelson our little wild boy had to be caught in a net to get him into his box, but all are now safely on their way.

It has been an extremely busy week for me as on this transport were the first 4 cats from PAWs in Mojacar, that I have helped to find homes for, and there has been a lot to sort out, and a pick-up on Wednesday evening.

Kalem and the brothers Rusty, Rufus and Robin are all beautiful cats and with the efforts of the girls in Germany, I am very happy to have been able to help them. The 3 ginger boys have been in the cattery from age 6 weeks and are now 1 year old, and Kalem, despite being absolutely gorgeous, had also been there for several months. The problem has been the difficulty in finding homes for stray cats, even the most beautiful ones, in Spain.

Now new lives await them all. Kalem is off to his adoptant in Switzerland (who will be driving a total of 800km to pick him up), Rusty will join a big soft dog and another young cat (below) in his new forever home, and Rufus and Robin will be fostered by the Mum of our own Pippa and her ginger boyfriend Ronaldo.

As for Nelson, our Almerimar boy, he will also be met by his adoptant, who is used to feral cats and will give him lots of love and time to settle into his new home with the 2 lovely cats below!

Thank you to Erika for fostering Nelson for the past month, to Mary for helping me this morning, to Jayne for coming to pick up the Mojacar cats with me and to Dawn and Nick for giving a home and love to Kalem, Rusty, Rufus and Robin for the last 2 nights.

The girls in Mojacar will miss their boys as they have been looking after them for so long, but like me they await good news of their safe arrival and happy new homes. It is always tough setting them on their way knowing what a long journey they have ahead of them, but they are traveling to a better life and we all wish them well!
