A picture paints a thousand words, and never was this more true than in the marketing and presentation of the cats to prospective new families in Germany.
For each cat we need ideally at least six high quality images, size 800pixels.
It is really important that these photos show looks and character, and for the more standard ‘moggy’ character photos are even more important. Where possible therefor try and show as many of the below as possible.
- The Cat being stroked, and having its tummy tickled.
- The Cat playing with people including children
- The Cat playing with other cats, dogs etc
- The Cat asleep and looking relaxed
- The Cat cleaning itself
- The Cat sitting on someone’s lap
It is also very important that at least one photo shows clearly the whole cat, and that if there are any unusual features (e.g. short tail) these are shown. A good closeup of a beautiful face is also great.
Obviously not all of the above are possible, but try and cover as many of them as you can. Prospective owners are keen to know how the cat is with children/other cats/dogs/humans etc so the more we are able to show them via good quality photos the better the chance you are giving the cat!
Remember the ‘Golden Question’: ask yourself if you saw the photos would you fall in love with the cat.
It is really not worth even putting a cat up for adoption, unless we have reasonable photos, and the better they are the more ‘edge’ we can give our cats.
By way of example here are some examples of acceptable and not acceptable photos:

Please ensure the photos are in focus, no red eye, clearly show the actual colour of the cat, show the cat in its surroundings as well as front on close ups of the cat, a full picture of the cat, especially any unique or remarkable features.
We can also arrange to upload and make available any video that you have of the cat so please get in touch if you have shot some video and we will let you now what to do in terms of getting it to us.
