Thanks to David Jackson for pointing me in the direction of this information:

The animal pound at Roquetas del Mar is to offer, until the 15th of Feb, subsidised animal spaying for domestic pets, to help keep down the number of unwanted (and then dumped) pets

Campaña de esterilización de animales domésticos en el Municipio de Roquetas de Mar

- DIRIGIDA A: todos los animales identificados y residentes en el Municipio de Roquetas de Mar
- PERIODO DE CAMPAÑA: hasta el 15 de Febrero de 2009
- Se propone una tarifa de precios ajustada para esta campaña fijada en los siguientes términos:
· CONSULTA PREOPERATORIA: incluye hemograma, cuatro bioquímicas, electrocardiograma y radiografía de tórax: 50 €
· ANESTESIA: en función de tramos de peso
- 0-10 kg: 20 €
- 11-20 kg: 35 €
- 21-30 kg: 50 €
- 31-40 kg: 65 €
- 41-50 kg: 80 €
· CIRUGÍA GATO MACHO: 45 €
· CIRUGÍA PERRO MACHO: 50 €
· CIRUGÍA DE GATA: 60 €
· CIRUGÍA DE PERRA:
- 0-10 kg: 75 €
- 11-20 kg: 90 €
- 21-30 kg: 105 €
- 31-40 kg: 120 €
- >40 kg: 135 €

El atractivo para los propietarios de animales consiste en la reducción al 50 % aproximadamente del precio de la cirugía, si bien los precios de anestesia y consulta pre-operatoria son los fijados más arriba.

    doesn’t look much different to what we pay Begoña now. 50+20+60 for a female and 50+20+35 for a male And we aren’t resident in Roquetas

    Truem but there may be some people that read the site that live in Roquetas, or know someone that does and can pass the details on :-)
