VERY Happy Chivers Cat
28/08/12: Chivers (now Big) and his little girlfriend have now been in their forever home for over 2 years, and Kerstin has recently checked up on them. Both are still very well apart from little Luna needing a tooth removed recently. This was nothing to do with her FiV but because she had broken it, her Dad thinks playing too hard! As you can …
AlStrays Update: 07/08/10
Things continue to be busy as I plan towards an August transport date, not helped by the fact that that date is still un-confirmed. The good news is that I am hopeful of getting enough boxes to send 15 cats and kittens to Germany, 8 of whom already have adoptants waiting for them.

AlStrays Update: 27/07/10
Along with the girls in Mojacar we are continuing to ‘get through’ kitten season. Summer is always busy, and the situation is not helped by the fact that our prospective adoptants in Germany are mostly on holiday.

AlStrays Update: 17/07/10
It has been a month since my last update, and coincidentally it is about a month since little Fleur (featured post) came into our lives. Actually maybe this is not a coincidence as this little darling, at least for the first 2 weeks, needed watching 24/7 owing to her badly broken leg!

Character Cat Chivers Re-homed
Great news this morning, that our big character boy Chivers from the rocks here, has found his forever home, and even better, he gets to live with his new ‘toy’ girlfriend.

Cats Arrived Safe & Well
News is already coming in from Germany about our cats who arrived there yesterday. Big Chiver’s foster Mum is ‘already in love with him’, Marty was ‘very welcome’ in his new home, and for Trixie’s new big friend it was love at first sight!

Character Cat Chivers’s Photos
Finally, I have managed to take some great photos of Chivers, without scratches all over his face, from his previous macho existence on the streets. He has healed well, and adapted well to being inside, so much so that cuddles are demanded constantly accompanied by loud talking!

AlStrays This Week
February 26th
This morning we failed to catch the second of the 2 Nautico kittens for sterilisation, so she must now wait another 10 days. This was frustrating as yesterday she was actually in the catch box, but our appointment with vet Miguel was for today. We MUST catch her soon or we will have more little feral kittens!

Chivers Cat New Photos
As you will see from the video I posted a couple of days ago, Chivers is doing fine in his foster home here. He loves attention AND food, and actually doesn’t seem too concerned that, since his FIV diagnosis, he can no longer go outside. We are worried that he is a little bored, as he is restless at night, but when he gets to …
ALStrays This Week
The lovely little kittens pictured are our visitors from Murcia. They came to us on January 8th, when the transport to Germany had to turn back at the French border due to snow. Initially I planned to put them back on the transport the following week, but due to their bad colds they have stayed with us much longer. Both are nearly fully fit, and …
Character Cat Chivers
Pam and I finally caught Chivers on Tuesday morning, and it was great to find out that, although scared, he is not aggressive towards people, purrs when stroked and will do almost anything for a plate of nice food, including walk happily into a carry box! Yesterday when we took him to the vet however, things got a little more complicated.

ALStrays This Week
Sunday 24th January
This week has ended with great new. Beautiful Beau has his forever home with a lovely couple and another gentle cat. Cony sent me a message yesterday morning to say that she had decided Beau and Emily were not the perfect couple and was I happy for them to be homed separately. I agreed and amazingly within an hour these interested people came …
Little Chivers & Friends
Little Chivers & Best Mate Edi
At the end of July I posted the first great photos of little Chivers in his new home. These are new ones of him loving his new friend Edi, and being kissed by the home’s older, bigger cat!
Amazingly people still ask me if we are really sending our cats to Germany, to good homes, or to strange people …
Little Chivers Kitten

Xabi & Chivers News
This afternoon I got news of our final 2 kittens that arrived in Germany yesterday. This slight delay was because Martina didn’t get home until midnight last night and was out early this morning to work. Basically after work yesterday she drove to pick up these 2, take Xabi to his temporary foster home, and then little Chivers a long way to his new family. …
Busy Successful Morning
Just back from a very successful morning. First Nicola manage to catch the 4th abandoned kitten, another little girl! We had all been worrying thinking about the poor little thing out there alone and hungry at night, but now all is well and we have taken them up to Miguel for a quick check and to get some drops for the one with the slightly …
Saving Tommy – Our FIV +ve Cat
Tommy the tomcat has had a rather eventful week, and I have been finding out all about FIV in cats, because when Tommy had his blood-test I was given the news that he was positive. This is the equivalent of being HIV in humans, although I now know that less cats develop full blown aids, so it is definitely NOT a death sentence.
The problem however …
