Ok once again an update is long overdue, my only excuse being that I have been spending so much time getting cats and kittens to the vet and ready to go to Germany that this blog has had to take second place. However I do have lots of photos to post over the next few days and I will be starting with those of our …
I now have news that Ginger Jasper has a home and it appears that he has settled in very fast and made friends with his new housemate! I have just received this email from Kerstin which describes his arrival with his adoptant Karin.
News from Germany over the past week is great:
MOST important is that big Tommy is getting on fine with his housemate Socks, so we are now very hopeful that his ‘trial’/foster home will turn into a permanent one. This is very important as Tommy, being FIV positive, can only really live with other FIV positive cats to rule out ANY risk. FIV (similar to the …
Just back from persuading Big Beau NOT to jump from Nicola’s 4th floor balcony in a bid for freedom! He is the beautiful tomcat, that we rescued this morning, and our last visitor to the Calle Alcor cat buffet, which is now closed! Beau is a huge cat but a definite big softie, who likes being stroked. He is not aggressive at all but seemed …
Very Contented Ginger Jasper
Ginger Jasper has been at Pam’s now for about 2 month, and has settled extremely well into apartment life, since we rescued him from Darsena 2.
Time for another update on our now 18 foster cats, although that may actually be 15 as it appears that 3 of them may be staying in Almerimar!
Thought it was time for a quick update on all our foster cats … we currently have 18! This includes a beautiful new 6-week old kitten that Jean and George have taken in, and that I have yet to meet.
Time for a quick summary update, as I haven’t been phloging so much this week. I’ve been having a psuedo holiday, actually at home as we live in a Spanish holiday town!
Jasper is our latest big cat rescue. Pam has been feeding him alongside Keba in Darsena 2 for several months. Although he was very nervous at the beginning, we now believe he was an abandoned cat.
The last few days have been interesting to say the least! If you have been listening to my phlogs then you will be up to date on most of the news, but in summary, we have rescued 3 more kittens and one cat in 4 days.
This all started with a phone call from Tracey on Friday evening and continued with Chris and I being woken …
Just a quick update on our foster cats. The four baby kittens are doing REALLY well. Even the smallest is now close to 1kg which is fantastic. Meanwhile Tommy’s coat improves daily and I await confirmation of his ‘forever’ home, AND a flight partner to get him to Germany by the least stressful route.
Caesar/Kasper has finally started purring at Pam’s and is obviously very happy. …
Just back from coffee and a tostada, following a morning’s cleaning at Casa De Los Gatos, the cat rescue. Gisela is very kind but not really well enough to do this any more, and things get a little out of hand re. the cat toilets. Lovely job!!!
The number of cats is slowly creeping up towards 30 again which is not good, but she assures us …
Today was meant to be a quiet day, but Pam rang me early this morning to say that one of our semi-ferals was limping badly, and she was worried he may have broken his leg. I therefore arranged for him to go up to Miguel, as we had been planning on castrating him soon anyway, AND I also arranged for him to spend a few …
