Our Kasper
23/03/13: I have just realised that it is a very long time since I last posted on our beautiful little boy. Kasper never did travel to his home in England because Kim, Chris and I decided that he should stay here with us and his cat friends, including his best play buddy Dusky. Our handsome boy is now about 10 months old and today I …
News Of Kasper
Kasper was one of our Calle Alcor cats, and having spent several weeks being charming at Pam’s, he has a special place in our hearts. When he was first abandoned, due to his bullying of Monty and Mimi, we weren’t overly fond of him, but once he was inside we realised that he was to people a total charmer, desperate for love and …

UPDATE 08/06 1600: Re. Greta & Harvey
“Harvey and Greta are fine… But Greta came out of the box and first time would jump from the balcony after she saw the little dog, who only want to sit next to her. Harvey was very great with all, only tried. I caught Greta and Harvey and then would be better to sit them into the kitchen. Greta …
Kasper, Harvey & Greta Away!
Gorgeous Greta
Just back from a well-earned breakfast with Pam, having got up at 6am to take Harvey, Greta and Kasper to the transport to Germany.

Kasper Gets a Garden
Great news for Kasper; his new home is in a house with a garden, AND he has an ‘older woman’. I asked Kerstin in Germany about his new home as Pam was worried he wouldn’t have enough of the company he craves. I also wanted to tell her that he now recognises the new name (Kasper) that we gave him. These emails came through this …

Surprisingly Sweet Kasper
Kasper has settled brilliantly at Pam’s and as you can see from her latest comment, has turned into rather a sweetheart, whom she seems to be very fond fond of!
“This is a most unusual cat – he just craves affection and every evening when he joins up with my 3 cats and dog he jumps onto my knee and refuses to move …
Strays Update 19/05/09
Just a quick update on our foster cats. The four baby kittens are doing REALLY well. Even the smallest is now close to 1kg which is fantastic. Meanwhile Tommy’s coat improves daily and I await confirmation of his ‘forever’ home, AND a flight partner to get him to Germany by the least stressful route.
Caesar/Kasper has finally started purring at Pam’s and is obviously very happy. …
Busy Successful Morning
Just back from a very successful morning. First Nicola manage to catch the 4th abandoned kitten, another little girl! We had all been worrying thinking about the poor little thing out there alone and hungry at night, but now all is well and we have taken them up to Miguel for a quick check and to get some drops for the one with the slightly …
Strays Update 08/05/09
As planned a quiet week, although we have been trying to help a very sick feral cat. So far no progress as he won’t come near enough for us to help or catch him, and yesterday was showing no interest in food. We will keep trying but I don’t hold out much hope as yet.
On the better news front, both Caesar (now Kasper) and Tommy, …
Abandoned v Street Cats
I’ve posted before about how sorry I feel for the abandoned pets, and how vulnerable I think they are out on the streets. This is why I get very frustrated when people tell us not to feed the stray animals here, because they can fend for themselves.
Genuine street cats know how to forage and hunt for food, and they are comfortable out in the wild …
Meet Kasper Cat!
Before He Was Rescued
Kasper is now on his 3rd name! This is the first one we really like and as it is a German name, hopefully they will like it over there as well.

Update On Tommy & Caesar
Tommy is doing ok. Our neighbours are looking after him really well and forgiving his toilet accidents, that were becoming quite numerous until we had him castrated on Thursday. Now things are better and we remain hopeful that he can be an indoor cat and therefore have a good life. Because Tommy is FIV positive he must stay away from other cats so cannot go …
Arrived Safely
Great news this afternoon, that both Cookie and Mina have arrived safely in Germany, and are now in their foster homes there. It is always good to hear as the transport takes close to 24 hours, so is a very long trip for the poor little buddies. Now we just have Tommy in a foster home here in Almerimar and Caesar in the cat rescue …
Caesar Doing OK
Yesterday I had to move Caesar from his foster home. Things had not worked our because the very kind Spanish lady has a small apartment and Caesar decided NOT to use his litter tray, which as you can imagine was causing a few problems with rugs etc.

So Far A good Week
So far everything has gone to plan this week. Yesterday we caught Monster Mog or Caesar as we are now calling him, and after an overnighter with Jenny he has been up to vet Miguel today to be ‘processed’.
The poor thing is now very woosy having been tested, chipped castrated and pumped full of various vaccinations. We have just dropped him off with a very …
Onwards and Upwards
Just back from feeding the Alcor Cats again and I was very pleased to see Caesar or Monster Mog as he was origianally named for his aggressive ways. Pleased because we intend to ‘rescue’ him from his life on the street tomorrow. It definitely doesn’t suit him as he looks dirty and bedraggled a sure sign of an unhappy cat who is not cleaning himself.
Meanwhile …
Plans For This Week
OK this week is now organised. Pam and I did try and catch another pregnant female this morning but she was unusually skittish so we are resigned to the fact that more kittens are coming. We are hoping she will have them on one of the boats and we may be able to find them earlier enough to (I’m sorry) destroy them. This HAS to …
Calle Alcor Update
Fed the strays on Calle Alcor as usual this afternoon, and left a little worried about Mimi and her kittens. She was there looking healthy and tucked into the meat and special biscuits I took her so all seemed well. She then however seemed to get disturbed by something as she was about to go through the gate into the normally empty house, where we …
Foster Home Needed
I am now definitely worried about Monster Mog. When he first appeared he had swagger, excess fat, and a rather smart pink collar, and we were not overly fond of him as he was chasing off our more gentle strays. Now he seems sad, is much thinner, has no collar, and appears to still have a slight limp from a nasty bite.
I saw him this …
