Kittens On The Front-Page
Today I sent photos of our kittens to Cony in Germany to put up on their web-site, where people who are interested can look and get more details.
Pictures Of Bono
One Satisfied Kitten
I took this picture after Bono had managed to eat a whole tin of Gourmet pate. Having a belly full of more solid food seems to have made him very sleepy, and he decided to join his new best friend, Capone, in the dog’s basket.

This was taken yesterday, and is really so that a friend of Mary’s can take a look, so apologies for the dribbly close-ups! He was a vet for many years and treated lots of Persian cats with palette problems. We are hoping he may be able to give us a second opinion. Begona our vet …
The Almerimar 5
Beautiful Bonny
¨The Almerimar 5¨ is how I am referring to the litter I rescued last week. Bonny is the only little girl but she has 2 big healthy brothers (Bruno and Jack) and 2 slightly smaller but very sweet brothers (Felix and Jasper)
Kitten Update
22/01/09: I’ve just spoken to Tracy and she has now let the latest Almerimar 5 have the run of her basement. Little Jasper has adjusted brilliantly and is rushing around happily on his caste, so I’m really pleased that we put it on to stop him limping. Felix the smallest is still sneezing, but he is eating well, and they are all still on antibiotics. …
A Litter Rescued
Today I rescued the remaining 3 kittens from the litter that was left on the rocks just after Xmas. The first 2 I picked up on Tuesday and they have been with Jenny. The plan today was to take them up to Tracy’s for the next week and try and get another of the litter to go with them. Tracy has today actually ended up …
Bono Update
This morning we took little Bono back to the vet for more injections. Even Begona thinks there is an improvement in his poor little locked mouth. He is still on daily antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injections, for a suspected infection in his jaw muscles or nerves. We are having to be very patient and in the meantime continue to feed him liquids by syringe.
Meet Bono
Beautiful Little Boy
Little Bono is our first rescue of 2009. You can see form the photos and video below just how sweet and gorgeous he is, hence the name I have given him which is short for bonito (beautiful boy). However when we picked him up he had and still has a real problem in that he cannot open his mouth to eat properly …
Lulu & Coreena
Cheeky Coreena
The latest news from Germany a few days ago was that Lulu and Coreena were doing well in their foster home, and a couple who were interested in them were about to visit. Lulu and Coreena are 2 of our Almerimar kittens and for a number of other reasons have a special place in my heart.
First Rescue Of 2009
Yesterday Pam saw a beautiful little Siamese/Persian cross kitten that appeared to have been abandoned, on the rocks with the other stray cats. She said that he was really friendly, was very hungry, rushing from bowl to bowl for food, and appeared to have a bad cold. It seems that our priorities in trying to help the stray cats here will always change, depending …
Beautiful Adalita
Our Little Siamese
This is a great photo that I took of Adalita at 6 weeks, when she first came to Almerimar.
Latest News From Germany
You will see from my previous post that another of our Almerimar kittens has found a permanent home in Germany. This is great news for Adalita, but not a great surprise as she was a little charmer.
This news led me to wonder what was happening with our remaining 2, Lulu and Coreena, that Dawn and Nick fostered for over 2 months, and also Carmen and …
Adalita – The Little Bhudda!
Little Adalita
Latest Update: 090106
Adalita has a home! I have just had this email from Germany:
“Adalita stays in her foster home )) they are so in love with her !!!
Martina”
Escaped Princess
Check out this ungrateful kitten. She was abandoned by her mother and Pam has been feeding her in the port for several weeks. We had a scare a couple of weeks ago as we thought she had got trapped in the building materials in the empty locale she is living in, and we tracked down the key holder for an abortive rescue attempt.
Ungrateful Little …
Kiri Travelling In Luxury
Today the last of our Almerimar kittens set off for Germany. This was Kiri who we rescued on November 15th and has been very well looked after since by Annie and Alan.
She is an absolutely gorgeous little tabby of about 4 months, and with a very loud singing voice, hence I named her after an opera singer!
This I have not told to …
Saidi’s Grandkids Doing Well
This evening there was more good news about our Almerimar Kittens and the little ‘wild ones’ who also went on their way on Friday to Germany.
Lulu and Coreena were brilliantly fostered by Dawn and Nick here for 12 weeks, and I know they have been worried about how they are, and waiting for more news. Well from this email from Martina in Germany, we can …
On Their Way
Beautiful Jassa
Today I’m REALLY pleased to be able to say that ALL of our cats from Almerimar that we had taken to the cat rescue home over the past few months, are now already there or are at this moment on their way to new lives in Germany.
I was up at 5am this morning, along with Pam and Mary to deliver Smokey Boy …
The Almerimar Kittens
Over the last 2 and a half months we have had a number of kittens being fostered around Almerimar, all but one of whom came from the cat rescue home (Casa De los Gatos). This all started when Gisela who runs the home was taken suddenly ill and had to spend nearly 3 weeks in hospital.
Timmy – Now Adopted By Tracy
The first 4 kittens …
