Daphne – An Aristocratic Cat

May 16, 2013 – 9:38 am | 42 views

16/05/13: Amazingly Daphne was found abandoned on the streets in Almeria by a friend of the Spanish lady who runs a private rescue home. I don’t think she had been outside for long as her coat was not in very bad condition, but she is another example of the attitude to animals here. I love all cats but very Persian faces like Daphne’s are not …

15/07/12: 18:00 All 7 dogs and 31 cats have now been handed over, so our July transport is officially over. Safe journey home for our 2 drivers, Chris and Mick, and a big thank you for another tremendous effort.
13:30 All the cats and dogs are now on board, after a few delays, and the transport is now headed for Germany.
14/07/11: This morning at 6:30am another transport of cats and dogs to Germany began. A lot of the cats actually boarded in Almerimar this time, including the first 8 cats to be re-homed from SOS Pechina. They have all been staying here for the last 1-2 weeks to prepare them for the journey ahead. Deisy, Garfield, Perry, Mr Big, Novak, Almita, Cheska and Mindy are all now on their way to better lives. All are beautiful tame cats and I have enjoyed getting to know them. Jenny and I have also said goodbye to our foster kittens, Miro, Mejut, Misty and Mouse, and Pam to Lisa. In addition we have had Suy, Benito, Luna and 2 cute kittens from Cordoba overnight, and Nico the dog!

Yeti, Simba and Clark will be loaded in Almeria, and then, in Los Gallardos, Metha, Romy, Clara, Mimi, Chiquita and Amber the dog. There will then be a quick stop at El Limite to collect dog Gasper, and at our final Murcia pick-up point, Morenito, Elia, Nino, Cinderella, and Luca will board, along with dogs Laika, Lany, Naranja and Hanna.

In total we have 7 dogs, and 31 cats on their way to adoptants or foster home, in Germany, and Gasper to Belgium, and we have 4 drop-off points in Bruchsal, Wallau, Koln and Belgium. I wish all these beautiful animals long, healthy and happy lives, and with our drivers a safe journey.
